This IR Sensor Module features excellent adaptability to ambient light conditions. It includes a pair of infrared components—a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter emits infrared light at a specific frequency. When an obstacle is present, the emitted IR light reflects off the surface and is detected by the receiver.
The module uses a comparator circuit to process the signal. When an object is detected, a green LED indicator lights up, and the module outputs a digital (LOW) signal. The detection distance can be adjusted using the onboard potentiometer, with an effective range of 2 to 10 cm. It operates on a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V.
This sensor is compact, easy to use, and features minimal interference—making it ideal for a variety of applications such as:
-
Robot obstacle avoidance
-
Line-following robots
-
Obstacle-detection systems
-
Assembly line object counting
-
DIY electronics projects
